How can we help?*
Peter Daicos and Arthur Korf from Langwell Harper Real Estate Agency having a meeting.

How does an independent agency last 30 years?

In 1996, Arthur and I started Langwell Harper because we believed property owners deserved something more personal than a rigid franchise system.

But staying independent only works if clients keep choosing you. So the business was built around staying close to the property and the person behind it.

When it comes to sales, that means fewer campaigns, more director involvement and a strategy built around the individual property rather than a template. On the property management side, it means treating the asset as something to protect over years.

Then something far more valuable than advertising started happening. One client referred a sister. Another referred a cousin. A renter introduced a friend. Years later, the same families came back through their children to sell, buy and lease.

That is difficult to manufacture with marketing. It comes from doing a good enough job that someone is comfortable putting your name in front of a person they care about.

That matters in property because almost everything we are trusted with is significant: a family home, an investment, a lease, or a sale that may shape the next stage of someone’s life.

Thirty years later, the same two directors are still here, still using referrals as the gold standard and still putting their own names behind the work.

Today, Langwell Harper manages more than $1 billion of property across over 100 Melbourne suburbs, but the principle has stayed remarkably simple.

The market might change. We haven’t.
